It is with great EXCITEMENT that we are able to announce our second tournament!  We have booked a spot in the DETROIT HOCKEY FESTIVAL!  This is truly a once in a lifetime experience, as this years tournament includes tickets for everyone to the TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS VS. DETROIT RED WINGS GAME, outdoors, at THE BIG HOUSE!

• TEAM ELIGIBILITY IS BASED ON ALL ATTENDING PLAYERS, COACHES, MANAGERS, PARENTS, GUESTS AND NON-PLAYING KIDS

PARTICIPATING.

• A MINIMUM OF 30 IS REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION.

"MINIMUM OF 30" IS DEFINED AS THE SUM OF ADULT AND PLAYERS

ATTENDING.

• LARGER GROUPS CONSISTING OF ADULTS & PLAYERS SUMMING TO 35 OR MORE EARN

"PARTICIPATION DISCOUNTS" BASED ON TOTAL ATTENDING; 35-39 ADULTS & PLAYERS EARN $225, 40-44 EARN $450, 45-49 EARN $675 AND 50 & ABOVE EARN $900. TOTAL

EARNED IS DEDUCTED FROM TOTAL TEAM AMOUNT DUE AS DETERMINED BY SUMMING COST ASSOCIATED WITH EACH ROOM.

OK, EVERYONE!  DEEP BREATH!

Obviously the goal here is not to make the season difficult for anyone financially.  Due to the cost of this tournament (and the value it presents) the team will do whatever we can to help with the cost, all within the GMHA guidelines as outlined.  Look for future discussions on this during our August Dryland sessions.  Additionally, until we figure out all the details, please keep this within the AE family.

 

 

 

Great news!  We have been accepted to the Markham Waxers Early Bird Tournament!  As a reminder, the tournament runs the Friday, September 14th, through Sunday, the 16th.  In all liklihood, we will have a game on the Friday, possibly as early as Noon!  If you are not someone who can leave work early, please start thinking about a carpool!

We have worked toward reserving 20 rooms at the BEST WESTERN PLUS EXECUTIVE INN SUITES.  The address is 38 Estate Dr., Toronto, ON.  Basically it is at Markham Rd. and the 401.  Common rooms have been booked for parents and players.

Rates are as follows:

2 Queen beds - $95

2 Queen beds plus couch - $105

1 King bed plus couch - $105

All rates listed do not include tax!  Once the amount of each room type is provided to Jim Sr., I will post a note stating when we can begin booking rooms.  You are responsible for booking the rooms yourself, and please only book one room until everyone has had a chance to book.  If you have extended families, there will likely be some folks that choose not to stay, and you can then book the extra rooms.

3 Rules if you choose to stay at the hotel...

There is a pool at the hotel.  This will be the only reminder, that you and you alone are responsible for your player and any siblings that go to the pool.  Please do not let your player head to the pool with no adult supervision.  If your player is found in the pool area without an adult THAT YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO, your player may miss game time.)

When our game time is announced for Saturday, a COACH IMPOSED player curfew will be in play.  This will be an announced time of when the players have to be in their rooms.  Not asleep, but in thier OWN room.

For those of you who haven't done a tournament away from home, you will quickly notice why these rules are in play ;0)

HOTEL POLICIES

(Part and Parcel of the Group Contract)

Must be provided to each member of the Group

 

  • A credit card is required upon arrival with photo identification for all reservations, for deposit purposes. The cardholder must be present upon arrival and reside in the registered room. Cash or checks will not be accepted as deposits or as an alternative to a credit card.

 

  • In order to reserve and stay in a guest room a parent or grandparent must accompany any guests under the age of 21.

 

  • Check in time for all arriving room is 3.00 PM.  Room availability cannot be guaranteed anytime before 3:00 PM, regardless of circumstances.

 

  • Check out time is 11:00 AM on the date of your departure.  A late check out fee will be applied to all guests whom check out later than 11:00 AM.

 

  • Rooms are blocked on a ‘first come first serve’ basis and are assigned based on the available rooms at the time of the reservation.  Please review your group contract to see the specific room types allotted to your group.  Only those room types are available for your group.  

 

  • Due to the physical structure of the building and its placement of rooms and reservations already in place for other guests, groups and/or blocks of rooms cannot be reserved on the same floor or next to each other/adjoining etc.

 

  • Requests for cots and cribs are limited in number and will need to be booked in advance.  These items are blocked on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. 

 

  • The hotel has no Hospitality rooms.

 

  • If people within your group are unsure about needing their accommodations for a second or third night, it is recommended that they check out after the first night and make arrangements with the hotel once they have confirmed their plans.  Rooms will not be put on hold tentatively and cancellation fees ($75) will be applied.

 

  • To ensure a comfortable and relaxing visit for all our guests, loitering, running, jumping and excessive noise in public areas, hallways or staircases is not permitted.  Also please do not block your guest room door open as excessive noise from guest rooms travels easily and profoundly.   

 

  • Consuming or transporting open liquor, alcoholic beverages and food in public areas, hallways, staircases, pool and exercise room is not permitted.

 

  • The Pool, Spa & Fitness Areas are open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.  Please note that a Life Guard is not on duty.  Children MUST be accompanied by a parent or grandparent. Towels are available in the pool area.  Please do not remove towels from your room, for pool purposes 

 

  • The hotel has a ‘no pet’ policy.  Trained ‘seeing-eye’ dogs are however acceptable.

 

  • The hotel offers a Deluxe Complimentary Continental breakfast daily from 6:00am – 9:30am ‘til 10am on weekends!

 

  • The hotel has a 10pm quiet time.
