News Article - Phoenix Have 2 Weeks to Rise from their Ashes - Jan 16, 2010

This wasn't even fair!  The Renegades came out on offense and tried to get used to the muddy field.  There were some slips on the first drive.  One lead to a Phoenix pick six when a receiver fell on a route.  That would be the only points for the Phoenix.  The defense held strong and put a strangle hold on the endzone again.  The Phoenix didn't cross midfield until the 12 play of their 15 play turn.

I lost count, but the Renegades scored about 8 TDs.  5 of them were on their first 5 plays of their second offensive drive (10 play turn).  The defense had some big plays as well, causing several fumbles and picking off the Phoenix QB twice.

News Article - 2010 Schedule - Jan 8, 2010

The 2010 TSFA schedule has been released.

The Renegades begin their 2009 title defense against the Wrecking Crew who won the Epler Cup back in 2007.

The 09 runner-up Outlawz will face the Phoenix.

Last year's Southern Conference favorite, Bulldawgs, will open against the Bucs who love to pull upsets.

And the final game of opening day will match the Longhorns and the newly formed Tigers.

*NOTE* - The Revolution have decided not to compete in the 2010 season.

News Article - BUCS Scrimmage - Dec 13, 2009

This was the Renegades first action of the 2010 preseason.  It was also the first time they wore any pads.  The Bucs on the other hand have been working out for several weeks.

The format of the scrimmage was 15 plays for each team starting at the 20 (11 man field).  Then a second set of plays at 10 a piece.  Finishing up with a live quarter of play.

The Gades started off on "O."  They had several mistakes in their first 15 plays.  Most of them were snaps and sub-par QB/WR timing.  What can you expect for the Gades first action with only two practices.  Despite the lows, they put up one touchdown on a long pass and also put together two long drives.

The Bucs offense took the field and was ready to play.  They moved the ball on the Renegades defense getting to the redzone.  Though the Bucs got close to paydirt, they couldn't touch it.  With minimal preparation, I guess we'll have to live with the results of the first drive.  The Bucs reset at the 20 and began to drive again, but couldn't get as close as their first trip.

The second set of plays for the Gades offense showed a different style than the first.  Ball movement was better, but that's expected when you don't have any poor snaps.  There were still some oddities in the passing game, most notably a dropped TD pass in open the open field.  They were still able to put the ball in the endzone once in ten plays.

The Renegades "D" took the field again and looked a lot better.  Several sacks and a few missed interceptions showed that they aren't going to give up the #1 D title without a fight.  Again, the Bucs couldn't put points on the board.

In the live quarter, the Renegades scored on the very first play, going 80 yards to the house.  The Bucs took over and averaged over 15 yards per play on their first 5 plays.  That put them in the redzone again.  And again, the Gades defense held strong preventing and points.  The Renegades drove the field again and scored on a mid-range pass with a long run after the catch.  The scrimmage ended on the Bucs next drive when they went fumbled the ball away on their third down attempt.

What we'll consider a somewhat successful scrimmage against the 09 Northern Conference Runner-Up had the Gades in the endzone 4 times to the Bucs none.  Even with little preparation, the home team was still fairly dominate in their opening act of the preseason.  Although there are new faces on the squad, expect the Renegades to defend their championship in good form in 2010.

News Article - - Oct 16, 2009

The TSFA had their first league meeting this past week.  So far 8 teams are set to be in competition with a probability of 10 teams total.  Twelve teams could possibly comprise the league, but that doesn't seem likely at this point.

With a lower than usual number of teams in the league it is probable that there will not be two conferences.  Every team will play every other team and the top 6 will make the playoffs.  The top 2 teams would receive a first round bye.  And the top seed would play the lowest seed that advances from the first round of play.

The confirmed 8 teams are...

RENEGADES - Defending South Conf. and TSFA Champs

OUTLAWZ - Defending North Conf. Champs

BULLDAWGS - 09 South #1 Seed

LONGHORNS - 09 North #3 Seed

BUCS - 09 North #4 Seed (upset #1 Seed REVOLUTION)

WRECKING CREW - 09 South #4 Seed

PHOENIX - 09 Missed Playoffs

TIGERS - NEW: PANTHERS and RHINOS organizations teamed up

The REVOLUTION and WOLVERINES are still possible participants, but haven't been heard from yet.

The COWBOYS and BANDITS are out.

None of this is set in stone yet.  It is still early and things can change.
