******* Raiders Finish season .... BUT......:..
The Raiders closed out the 2009/2010 season Friday March 5th with a loss to the Knights 7-2. The Season that saw the Raiders at the bottom of the league after an ownership change in October is now history. You can look at the stats on the main page of the league website and say "same ole Raiders" or "What else is new" BUT!!! Why after Fridays final game is there optimism and renewed hope after a season like this that just happened? The reasons start at the top with President Sanders, the new group of Raiders owners, and Murray Allan A mix of veterans on the team and some new ,exciting,players who are going to get better: Names like Cassie, Felbel, McDonnell are just some of the names that will be leading the Raiders into the next seasons These new owners at the top are proud people who support the MMJHL and some are former Raiders players They Believe in the Raiders and will do everything they can to turn this team around This will not be an organization players will whisper when they are asked "what team do you play for?" Players will be proud to put on the Raiders uniform and will learn to appreciate the history of this team and some of the names who played over the years and why David Levine started the Raiders They May not win an MMJHL Championship next season but you can bet this team will be in for a playoff run in March 2011 The Raiders slogan now is Enough is Enough the pride is back!! And to all the fans ,volunteers, People who work at Mosienko (Larry,Peter etc.), People who helped with the fundrasing dinner, all the sponsers of the Raiders and to everyone who supports the league and junior hockey: THANK YOU And with all the exciting changes and the new Raiders Optimism it almost makes me wish summer was over and hockey season was just beginning..................Almost
