Babson Club Baseball Fall Preview 2012Jul. 11, 2012 Babson Club Baseball was founded in 2010 with a focus on helping students play competitively at the collegiate level. The team struggled through its first two seasons until the fall of 2011, in which former captain, Kendall Chaves, led the team to an 8-4 record, a division championship, and a berth in the New England Regional Tournament. Coming this Fall, Babson Club Baseball will look to build upon last season's success and make a run at the New England Club Baseball Association Championship. The team will be run under new leadership, with Nick Vennochi taking over as head coach of the program. Ryan Garber, former infielder for Emerson College, will be the team's new assistant coach. With the graduation of team captain, Kendall Chaves, Babson Club Baseball is proud to announce Ryan Andrews and Zach Golden as this year's co-captains. Both are proven leaders on the team, and are looking forward to the upcoming season. Although dealing with the losses of NECBA all-stars Kendall Chaves and Jared Shulman, the team has young talent looking to play a large role in the fall season. Sophomores Lenny Brown and Cam Clifford look to be forces at the top of the lineup as well as in the outfield. Look for Sophomore Zach Sufrin to transition into a spot in the starting rotation, along with returning senior Pete Given. While Babson Club Baseball has a deep, talented roster, we are always looking for new additions. If you are a current or incoming Babson student with competetive baseball experience, please email president, Jed Drake, at rdrake1@babson.edu for more information. Tryouts will be held during the first week of classes.
