We will have our Post Annual Open Board meeting for Calaveras Jr. Redskins Monday December 12th at the Pizza Factory in Valley Springs 6pm. We will be selecting the open Executive Board Positions which are Secretary, VP and Head Varsity Coach for 2012 season. This is open to anyone affiliated with the CJR Program.

MLYAC Changes 2011

 Divisions to be split by age

Varsity -     13 &14 year olds

JV -           11 & 12 year olds

Bantam-     9 & 10 year olds

M.M. -       7 & 8 year olds

Season age to be determined by age on November 1^st

11 year old veteran player can play on Bantam if weight is not more than 65

13 year old veteran player can play on JV if their weight is not more than 90

All Divisions to implement an X - man Rule

An X-Man is defined as a non-skill player. They are allowed to play line on both offense and defense and must be lined up between or straight up on the tackles. X-men must start plays in a 3 or 4 point stance. X-men are required to wear a determining mark on the back of the helmet to be determined by the league. All teams must use the same mark. X-men may not handle the football on offense or defense. If an X-man receives the football for any reason the play is dead. X-Men are not eligible for special team’s play of kick-off and kick return.

Skill Players

Skill players can play any position on the field. They are allowed to handle the football. Skill players must be under the following weight restrictions for each level.

• Varsity       170 lbs         
• Bantam      105 lbs
•  JV               135 lbs
• MM             70 lbs

Maximum Weight Limits per Division

Varsity -           205 lbs

JV -                 170 lbs

Bantam -          140 lbs

MM -               110 lbs

Special Teams

X- men are not to participate in kick-off or kick-return. A team must field a kick-off and kick return team if 11 skill players are present.

• If a team cannot field a kick-off team without using X-men, the ball will be automatically placed on the opposing team’s 40 yard line and the opposing team will start possession there.
• If a team cannot field a kick return team without using X-men, the ball we be place on the returning teams 20 and possession will start there.

Weight Gains and Weigh-Ins

• Any player weighing in at more than 3 lbs of the maximum weight is not eligible for additional weigh-ins that day.


There will be no mid-season weight adjustments at any level.
