News Article - Week 9! - Oct 27, 2012 Last night we had a huge come back in the bottom of the 6th to win 14-13 over the Swashbucklers. We finished the season at 4-4. We just barely missed the playoffs. Eariler this year we lost to St. Francis Angels 9-7, that game cost us the playoffs as we ended the season tied with them but with them holding the tie-breaker they get the advancement. Just so you all know the 2nd place team is the St. Francis Saints and we beat them, so we were well deserving of a playoff spot and proves that we could hang with any team in that league. For being the first season we have played together as a team I'm really impressed with how well we did this season. It is funny how far we have come since our first practice in Celina. I remember joking with the league rep when he called me to find out how good I thought we would be, my response was, "if we win a game I'd consider it a miracle" I'm so glad the team proved me wrong. Jeremy Denton started the game tonight with a first batter inside the park homerun! This was his 3rd of the season! after the first inning it was our patients at the plate that won us the game. Although I hate winning a game because of walks, a win is a win, and I think we needed that win to help us now more than ever. Come spring I will be seeking out each one of you and the subs we had fill in throughout the season to put together a team next year. In the mean time, relax, enjoy the time away from softball and for those of us that are nursing injuries, Get healed! Amber and I want to express our thanks to everyone for playing this year, for putting up with my temper at times, and for supporting me!
New Photo Gallery - Team Photo Final Game - Oct 27, 2012 News Article - Moving on! - Oct 20, 2012 Last night's game is behind us, looking forward next week we have our last regular season game of the year. We will play at 9:30 pm. To make playoffs we need two things to happen next week. first, we need to win against Swashbucklers; second, we need St. Francis Angels to lose to the Humdingers. If those things happen we will secure 4th place. Looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

Next week we play the undefeated Which Way team.

News Article - Rule Question - Sep 22, 2012 I was told there was a problem at the game Friday night (9/21/12). The rule in question was about a female batter choosing to go to first with 2 outs. I was told by the home-plate umpire week 1 that anytime this happens a female batter can take first. I heard there was a disagreement between the field umpire and the home-plate umpire at this past game. The actual ASA rule book states the following under Rule 8 Section 1-C-4 "Any walk to a male batter will result in a two base award. The next batter (a female) will bat. EXCEPTION: With two outs, the female batter has the option to walk or bat. Should the female batter-runner pass a male batter-runner when choosing to walk, no out shall be called during the dead ball period. A male batter-runner advancing to second without touching first base shall be called out if properly appealed." Basically the Umpire who I got the rules from (Our home plate umpire for the first three games) was wrong about the rule. However; we need to remember that any male batter who just walks straight to second without touching first we can appeal and runner should be called out at first, for missing the bag. Hope this helps, sorry for the confusion, we were told wrong, I have contacted the league and asked them to make sure all their umpires are on the same page regarding this rule.
