Game Story:

Cardiff started the game strong, dominating the opening quarter in terms of possession and deserved their 2-0 lead. Tom Riddlestone #44, who was exceptional on the day with 13 saves (0.765), kept Hillcroft in the game in the early stages.

After a strong team talk at the interval Hillcroft found more momentum in the second quarter. Liam O'Mahoney, scored his first and second Hillcroft goals back to back to really start Hillcroft off, the first off a nice feed from Tim Reichert and a lefty quickstick finish, and the second an alley dodge right, with a lefty inside bouncer that beat the Cardiff goalkeeper. Liam was named MvP on the day for his performance.

After the half Hillcroft continued to hold steady in defence, with Dave Bumby, Ben Stothard, and Rich Morley locking down and limiting Cardiff to 2 goals after the first quarter. With Tim Reichert dominating possession at the face, and Kyle Zahrlybeny (3,0) in exceptional form, Hillcroft were able to take their opportunities patiently and steadily build the lead, culminating in a slam dunk goal from Kyle off some nice transition with James Aris (0,3) and Alex Twiss (1,1) contributing on the fast break to let Kyle beat the keeper from a mid air backside look.

MvP: Liam Mahoney

Hillcroft now improve to (2-3) on the season and will look to push on in their game next week away to Bristol.
