3 members of the 2012 Lady Colonels soccer team recieved ECC post season awards. Senior captain Jordan Bierman was named first team medium division. Alyssa Samson earned Honorable Mention for the medium division. Gabby Dubuc earned the team Sportsmanship Award. CONGRATULATIONS!
LEDYARD —Olivia Cormier finished with two goals to help the 14th-seeded Bacon Academy girls soccer team beat No. 19 Ledyard, 4-1, on Friday in a CIAC Class L first-round game. The Bobcats (8-6-2) advance to play the winner of third-seeded RHAM and 30th-seeded Sheehan, which will be played today. Kylie Frink had five saves for Bacon. Alyssa Samson tallied Ledyard’s (8-8-1) lone goal.
Due to the recent snow the venue for the state tournament game between Bacon and Ledyard has been moved to Blonders Park in Ledyard. Bacon will still be considered the home team and wear white, Ledyard blue. Game time is 2:00pm.
LEDYARD- NFA and Ledyard finished in a 2-2 double-overtime tie. Kelly Lamb had a goal and an assist, Savannah Johnson scored a goal and Austin Graber 14 saves for Ledyard (8-7-1). Shania Homiski and Gabrielle Wise scored goals, Maddi Teixeira had an assist and Katherine Beasley made eight saves for NFA (8-3-3).
LEDYARD- Kelly Lamb scored three goals and had an assist as Ledyard beat Montville 4-1 in an ECC Medium Division game. Alyssa Samson scored, Kayla Fowler had two assists, Lauren Scahill had an assist and Austin Graber made six saves for Ledyard (8-6, 6-3). Caitlin Turney scored and Meghan Autencio made 17 saves for Montville (5-8, 3-7).
WINDHAM- Alyssa Samson scored on a breakaway with 12 minutes remaining to lift Ledyard past Windham, 1-0, in the ECC Medium Division. Kelly Lamb added an assist and goalie Austin Graber had three saves for the Colonels (6-6, 4-3).
