Minor Atom AA: City of Burlington Thefts

I just wanted to take an opportunity to let you know that we have had a string of thefts in the City of Burlington arenas.  Over the past few weeks thefts have increased considerably.  The theives are entering the changerooms and taking valuables.  Below are the following precautions/actions that the City of Burlington has taken:

• Police will receive video and eye witness information regarding a current theft
• Signs are being created to identify that the entrance and exit ways to all change rooms are monitored
• For a series of evenings a security guard is making a presence in each arena 2 times per night at each arena.
• We recommend that all ice users lock their change room doors.  On site staff will also be reminding our users to lock up!
• All arena staff and Customer Service staff are aware of these incidents, a photo of an individual has been made available to the coordinators to show their staff.  Staff have been instructed not to confront this person if they see him but to call the Police.

Please inform all participants/coaches/managers of the situation and be sure they lock the rooms behind them.  It is recommended that teams have a bag for valuables that they take to the bench while playing. 

Please take precautions to avoid any more theft.
