The Newburyport Girls Basketball Association is for girls residing in or attending school in Newburyport. It is comprised of 5th, 6th,7th and 8th grade teams. The NGBA is a non-profit organization that allows all girls the opportunity to play and learn the game of basketball. It focuses on, and is committed to, building team spirit and sportsmanship at all levels. Travel teams are formed in October, begin practicing in early November, and compete in the North Shore Girls Travel League (www.northshoregirlsbasketball.com) during December, January, and February. The season concludes in March with playoffs and tournaments.
This season’s NGBA fees are $225.00. Please complete the registration form REGISTRATION FORM 2012.pdf and along with payment return it by 10/14/12. The address is listed on the form. Registrations postmarked after 10/11/12 may be placed on a waiting list. We encourage timely registration and will try very hard to accommodate all registrants. Team selection will be held Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Newburyport High School: The times for each grade are:
7thgrade 1:00 – 2:30 pm 8th grade 2:30 - 4:00 pm
5th grade 4:00 - 5:30 pm 6th grade 5:30 - 7:00 pm
Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time and check in at registration table.
Attendance is mandatory.
**Coaches and Assistant Coaches are needed for all grade levels**
Participation in the program will be predicated on coach availability.
If there is no coach for a particular grade level, the league reserves the right to limit the number of participants. In this event, selection will be based upon 1. seniority in the program 2. order the registrations were received.
Teams for grades 5 and 6 will be made to be equitable (B/B). Teams for grades 7 and 8 are based on skill level (A/B).
REFUND POLICY: The NGBA will refund the registration fee with a 10% deduction up until the first team practice. After the first team practice there are no refunds allowed.
