GAINESVILLE — Oconee County sophomore Bobby Holmes and freshman Chris Mejias combined to pitch a five-inning perfect game Friday as the Warriors defeated Chestatee 11-0. Holmes pitched the first inning and recorded one strikeout. Mejias (1-0) came on in the second inning and finished the game, recording five strikeouts. Oconee County (9-5, 6-4 in Region 8-AAA) had 10 hits and was led by Davis Aiken, Zack Vaughn, Connor White and Cole Daniel, who each posted two hits. The Warriors will play at 5:55 p.m. Monday at Walnut Grove.
