Fireman's field was the site for last night's Turf-twinbill under the lights between the LI Prospects and the Smithtown STAMPEDE. With game time temps around 40°, the STAMPEDE put 4 quick runs on the board in the 1st inning as the Prospect pitching allowed hits by Matt the Bat (2-4,2B) & Nick the Stick (2-3 BB, 2 RBI) to start the rally. News Article - STAMPEDE/Greendogs Showdown Rescheduled - Oct 13, 2009 Commissioner Sullivan has just added the Smithtown STAMPEDE / Farmingdale Greendogs October 31st 10-75' American Division heavyweight rematch to the Fall schedule as a make-up doubleheader for the rained out 10/3 contest. Always a tough opponent, the Greendogs seek to avenge their defeat at the hand's of Team STAMPEDE in last Summer's 9U championship series. Smithtown took two straight victories from Farmingdale in the best of three final to capture their first travel baseball title. The NJBL has scheduled and posted the game to be played at Brady Park, with a 9 AM game 1 start time, on 10/31.
