On Saturday, 10/22/11, many of the players, coaches, and family members of the Smithtown STAMPEDE enjoyed a field trip to the Beaver Bat Company in Oceanside, NY.   The Team was hosted by President Peter Curti and VP Keith Cadieux who both crafted an extremely interesting and kid-friendly outing for the 12U STAMPEDE squad.

As Peter took small groups into the bat manufacturing area, Keith fielded questions about the professional stock of bats in the showroom.  Peter explained how his Company's goal to be GREEN influences Beaver Bats.  His NY and Pennsylvania wood billets have Beaver following green initiatives with its drying process as they plant a new tree for every 100 baseball bats they make.  Peter even made a bat from billet stock right in front of his captive audience.  Finished products and those nearing completion with their custom color combinations were also shown to everyone in an area separate from the computerized bat machine.

Keith was just as busy with his half of Team STAMPEDE.  The important process of selecting the right wood bat for young players led all of the boys at some point to the hitting tee and net.   A bevy of "sample" bats to choose from in the showroom had each of the boys taking their selections seriously and then checking/verifying bat weights on the digital scale.  Ash, birch, maple...getting the right feel when taking swings set the stage for the final bat model selections for each slugger.  Keith set up ball after ball to make things just right for the boys.

Once you select a bat, you fill out a simple form with your personal bat info.  The type, color, size, and engravings to customize your bat perfectly are just a few of the special options to consider.

The goal of The Beaver Bat Company is to give baseball players of all ages access to the same quality wood bat that the professionals use.  One trip to the Oceanside facility will show all how that goal will be met with great customer service, and great wood bats.
