News Article - HUGE WIN! - Sep 13, 2009 On Saturday morning, the Vincentian field hockey team faced off against Peters Township. For the first few minutes of the game, the Indians were dropping like flies due to some high hits, etc. The Royals continued to play with intensity and were in the offensive zone for most of the half. After consecutive corner attempts, Vincentian scored the first goal of the game. After halftime, the Royals maintained their composure and stayed focused on the game. Vincentian capitalized on another corner opportunity, and the Royals took a 2-0 lead. As time ticked away, Vincentian managed to hold off the desperate Peters Township offense and secure the victory! Offense: Kelly Dickson scored the two goals for the Royals, but everyone put in a solid effort. The passing between Jen Cherry and Annie Piotrowski was awesome! Defense: Marcie Koenig served as the last line of defense by blocking a shot that was millimeters away from going over the goal line. Colleen Rathz had a number of excellent saves. Sarah Slowik was inspirational yet again by being extremely aggressive all over the field. Nice job ladies....that may have been the best game that our team has ever played. WAY TO GO!!!!! Keep up the enthusiasm and get ready to crush the Panthers on Tuesday! In Constance we trust....

News Article - All hail Saint Bruno! - Sep 11, 2009 The Vincentian Royals field hockey team had a great game against Aquinas yesterday. The entire first half was played in the offensive zone, but the Royals were unable to get the ball into the cage. At the beginning of the second half, the offense used their explosive speed to score two goals within only few minutes. After a few unsuccessful defensive clears, Aquinas managed to tie the game back up. The Royals showed their stamina and desire by scoring two more goals. The entire team should be extremely proud...it was an awesome game! Offense: Danielle Kumpf scored two goals. Taresa Dongilli and Jen Cherry scored one goal each. Kelly Dickson and Annie Piotrowski each recorded an assist. Defense: Colleen Rathz once again performed extremely well in goal by stopping numerous shots and a stroke from going into the cage. Sarah Slowik had the game of her life and stopped nearly every Aquinas player in their tracks! Nice jobs ladies...keep up the intensity! Get excited to host Peters Township on Saturday!
News Article - Tough Loss...Remain Positive! - Sep 8, 2009 The Vincentian Royals field hockey team suffered their first loss of the season today at Greensburg Central Catholic. Although the girls put forth an excellent effort, in the end they came up short. Luckily, it is only the beginning of the season and the appropiate changes can be made! Keep your heads up and get pumped for the Thursday--the first game of the BRUNO BOWL!!!!!
