News Article - ...about the can... - Nov 14, 2009

You may be wondering why we pass the can after each goal...

The can is a team tradition for raising money instead of fundraisers to help pay for end of the season parties and team gear.  This season we also added a rummage sale to help pay for the team warmups.  This years can money is going toward small end of season gifts for the players as well as buying the players food at the end of season dinner.  Through your very generous donations, we are less than ten dollars away from our goal...with one game to go!

Thank You so much from the Coaches and all of the Players for your Goal Can donations.

The Xplosion scoring was completed with a goal by outside mid  Michaela Heileson.  Xplosion keeper  Kaylee Cline had a shutout with several strong saves until traded out deep into the second period. News Article - Splish, Splash...Equals Win! - Nov 10, 2009

I've been a little late writing about this game because I'm having trouble finding the words!  What a day on the pitch!  Recent heavy rains left deep mud and puddles at the Ferrucci "bog".  FWU Lightning and Xplosion squared off in the rain in one of the wettest muddy, matches of the season. Two goals by  Missy Cook  and another by  Katelyn Fuhlman  gave Xplosion a 3-2 decision.  The side story is how hard the water and mud made it to move the ball to the net.  Jordan Croom had an awesome match in the middle of the field and wins the "beast" award for her aggressive sliding in the mud!  Another notable was  Jessica Schock with awesome passing from her mid position.  The win keeps Xplosion in the second position in the league, a position it will have to work hard to keep as the competition gets better every week.
