Junior Bucs defeat Hiram after late game double, 11-6

After four lead changes in Sunday's game at Big Shanty Park, Junior Bucs finally pulled out a 11-6 win over Hiram.  The Junior Bucs finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning.  

Junior Bucs scored on an RBI double by Cam McCloskey off Tanner Jones, plating Peyton and Dycus.  McCloskey got a hit in each of his three at bats.  Jones boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate, to pace Hiram. Jones doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.  Dycus, Jared Miller, McCloskey, Canin Luke, James Paden, Chris Jeffers, and Brandon King each got hits for the Junior Bucs. McCloskey led the team with three hits.

The top of the first saw Hiram take an early lead, 1-0. Hyatt Chumley singled to ignite Hiram's offense. A groundout by Dawson Mitchell then moved Chumley from first to second. Daniell Gaines singled, scoring Chumley.

A key third-inning rally gave Junior Bucs the lead for good. Junior Bucs tacked on a total of four runs on an RBI double by Jeffers, a sacrifice fly by King, and a wild pitch.  Junior Bucs increased its lead with three runs in the fourth. Miller singled, bringing home Gomez to start the inning. That was followed up by McCloskey's single, plating Jordeyn Lewis.  

Hiram scored three runs in the top of the fifth to cut its deficit to three including a steal of home by Jones, and fueled Hiram's comeback. Finally, Paden got Jared Modre to strike out to end the game.  Junior Bucs built upon its lead with two runs in the fifth. A bases loaded walk scored Paden to kick the inning off. That was followed up by a walk by Dycus that scored Gomez.
