BAMA VERSUS GEORGIA TECH AND AUBURN

The Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Auburn, AL last weeked to play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Auburn Tigers in a double header. The team lost 4-17 against Georgia Tech, and in the heartbreaking game against Auburn, the Tigers won 11-12 in the last 15 seconds. However, Kaitlin McLhinney did an outstanding job on defense, Sara Cummings scored a total of 4 goals in the two games and Megan Monroe scored a hat trick in the first half of the Auburn game. The Alabama team will be off for the next two weekends, but will come back ready to take on Florida State and Central Florida in Florida on March 24th and 25th.

BAMA VERSUS OLE MISS AND SAMFORD

Congratulations to the Women's Lacrosse team for their first win of the season! They beat Samford 13-9 in a double header at Ole Miss. This was a great way to end the day after a 4-12 loss against Ole Miss. The MVP of the weekend went to Kristin LoRusso for her great groundball control. The next game will be against Georgia Tech and Auburn on Saturday, March 3 at Auburn.

BAMA VERSUS KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY

In a hard fought game against KSU, the Women's Lacrosse Team lost 7-10. They kept even with their opponent during the second half, but just could not score enough to take the lead. Congratulations to MVP, Goalie Lauren Nelson, for a strong game in front of the net. High scorers for the game included Lindsey Dunne and Kristin LoRusso. Also, Kristin led the team in groundball pickups. The next game will be against Ole Miss and Samford on Sunday, February 26 at Ole Miss. Good luck to the team, and Roll Tide!

The University of Alabama Women’s Club Lacrosse Team is a member of the Southeastern Women’s Lacrosse League (SWLL). We compete mainly during the Spring semester, but we have practice during both Fall and Spring semesters.  We have been a club since 2004 and have grown tremendously over the last few years. Our goal is to help promote the sport of lacrosse throughout the Southeast, give students an opportunity to continue playing lacrosse at a post high-school level and have fun!
