 The 2010 season is upon us so here is some information going forward. April 18th is the likely start date for the league to begin play. An official schedule will be out sometime in March and will be passed along to all of you the moment I get it. For those players who have played before, the league is going to push the playoffs a week later this year and will begin August 14 & 15th, then 21st and 22nd as opposed to August 7th & 8th, and 14th and 15th as it always has been before so take that in to consideration when planning vacations. There are 11 teams in the league this year as opposed to 10 so we will play a 20 game regular season which boils down to playing every team twice. In order to be eligible to play in the playoffs each player must participate in a minimum of at least 7 regular season games. The playoff bracket will be the top 10 teams regular season finish, the 11th place team will not make the playoffs unless another team forfeits their playoff spot(which has happened the past 2 seasons). The top 6 teams automatically qualify for the double elimination playoffs, teams finishing 7-10 will have a play-in game in order to make it to the double elimination playoffs. The playoffs will again be played at Governor Mifflin in August. As far as practices go, if March weather is kind to us we will hold practices on weekends at our home field and everyone will be emailed prior for times. I will be looking to schedule at least 2 scrimmage games prior to April 18th to get in some game experience against other teams, everyone of course will be notified when and where the scrimmages will take place. Lastly, our home field. Currently we are in talks with Muhlenberg Township for a field on Kutztown Road but they are dragging their feet and if I can not get an answer from them in 10 days we will return to the Perry field as our home field.
