Free Throw and 3 Point Competition Rules
Each year, the Roesky Tournament hosts a Free Throw and 3 Point Competitions.
Both of these events take place on Court 2 of the Auxiliary gym. Competitors need to register
with the person running the event for that day.
The following summarizes these competitions:
1) FREE THROW COMPETITION - Before arriving at the tournament, each team should
select two players to compete in the Free Throw ShootingCompetition. This competition
will take place on Court 2 in the Auxiliary Gym. Each contestant will shoot twenty (20)
free throws. The top two shooters in each division will compete in the Championship Round of the Free Throw Competition.
2) 3-POINT SHOOTING COMPETITION (6th - 8th Grade Divisions ONLY) - Each 6th, 7th,
and 8th grade team should select two players to compete in the 3-Point Shooting
Competition. The top two finishers in each division will receive awards during the Awards Ceremony.
Each contestant will have 90 seconds to shoot a total of 25 shots - 5 from each corner,
5 from each wing, and 5 from the top of the key. Each made shot will be worth 1 point,
and the final shot from each spot (the "money ball") will be worth an additional point. The
top two finishers in each division will receive awards during the Awards Ceremony.
