Elite Eight Finish 2011, 2012

Welcome to the official website for Allatoona High School Buccaneer Baseball!  The Bucs started their second campaign on the coast of Georgia, traveled to Disney World and played a tough region schedule.  The squad worked hard to improve on an impressive inaugural season which found them finishing full varsity play with a 9-16 record.  The 2010 season found the Buccaneers concluding their second season with a 16-10 overall record in AAAA action.  2011 saw the Bucs moving to the always tough 7AAA region with some of the states perennial powers and finishing with a 23-3 regular season record and a 18-2 region record.  The team advanced through the first round of state, beating St. Pius in three games at Oglethorpe University.  #1 seed White County then played host to the "road warrior" Bucs and then took them to three games, but the Bucs once again prevailed with a 7-6 win in 10innings to advance to the Elite Eight against Thomson.  The season came to a close in Thomson with the Buccaneers finishing the season 27-7.  The team picked up in 2012 where it left in 2011 and that is winning.  Allatoona finished the tough region 7AAA schedule & solid regular season non-region schedule with a 19-7 record and a #3 seed for the State playoffs.  Once again Allatoona went on the road to face North Hall in the first round and took that series in three games behind a dramatic game winning homerun in the second game.  The sweet 16 round found the Bucs traveling all the way down to Crisp County (Cordele, GA) to take on the #9 ranked team in the country (ESPN Top 50) and the #3 ranked team in GA.  Crisp entered the series with a 27-0 record but left with a 27-2 record as the Bucs pulled off the improbable sweep.  The first game was won 4-2 and the second game the Bucs once again pulled off some late inning magic defeating the Cougars 2-1 in 11 innings.  However, the Elite 8 round once again was the stopping spot as the team was swept at home by Troup.  Allatoona finished 2012 with a 23-10 season record.  The team now will begin to replace the 10 graduating (2012) seniors and move to the newly created AAAAA region in 2013.  Lots of great days in store for the Bucs!
