Big night for Buccaneer Seniors!Apr. 27, 2012 Acworth, GA On a night honoring Allatoona's senior class, some Buccaneer seniors came up with some big nights to secure the 8-3 win over the Cedartown Bulldogs. Senior, Lucas Brown (6-2), threw 5 innings of allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out 11 Bulldogs. Senior Michael Royal drove in three runs for Allatoona with a huge two run homer in a six run third inning. Senior, Clate Schmidt, also tripled home three runs in the third inning. Senior Nick Hall also joined the hit parade going 2-4 on the night. Junior Bradley Lewis started the scoring for the Bucs with a first inning hit to get the Bucs on the board. The win secured the #3 seed for the Buccaneers for the State Playoffs from region 7AAA. Allatoona will travel on Friday to North Hall for a first round state playoff matchup against the Region 8AAA #2 seed. Allatoona finishes the 2012 season with a 19-7 record and 15-5 region record. A huge congratulations to all the Buccaneer seniors: Tyler Ayres, John Barnett, Lucas Brown, Nick Hall, AJ Hart, Casey Linch, Marlon Melendez, John Rogers, Michael Royal & Clate Schmidt. Brown, Schmidt & Linch were all four year letterman for the Buccaneers and were a part of the very first Varsity squad in 2009. The seniors have a combined record of 70-39 over the four years since Allatoona opened it's doors. Congrats to all Buc seniors. Brown, Hall, Royal, Schmidt, Melendez and Hart are all singed to play college baseball next year.
