WELCOME TO THE BYRNE'S PUB ICE HOCKEY WEBSITE....
The Byrne's Pub Ice Hockey team made its debut in the 2008 Fall season. Playing in the CAHL(Chiller Adult Hockey League) of Central Ohio, and comprising of a core group of people that played Street/Roller hockey over the period of many years, the decision was made to put together an ice hockey team. Sponsored by Pat "Paddy" Byrne, owner of Byrne's Pub, located in downtown Grandview, OH, and also a foward on the team, a financial package was put together for jerseys, some loot for league fees and 1 dollar beers to anyone on the team. The last criteria was the clincher, as I dont think anyone one the team cared about the money or the jerseys that much, although it was a nice bonus. Our mission statement is avoid serious injury while out on the ice and to make fun of Swellie as much as possible. Backstopped by a goalie who relies on his good looks more so than his skills, a defensive core that tries not to fall down while skating backwards, and forwards who still can't catch a pass, the team does remarkably well and just this season got bumped up to a more competitive division after having a successful campaign in the D South division last year. So sit back and enjoy the ride. Even if we can't play hockey that well, we definitely provide plenty of entertainment to our 3 fans. CHEERS!
