CHILL HOCKEY NEWS

Thanks to those of you who attended the CHILL meeting last week. I apologize for the last minute notice of the meeting, next month's reminder will be sent out earlier. Meetings are always held on the first Wed. of the month at the CRPA building in front of the hockey rink. Board meeting starts at 6:30 pm, and general meeting starts at 7:30 pm. Here's an update of where we stand with the rink and the league:

The old Hockey Time rink is now the property of CRPA, although they won't unlock it until some much needed repairs are done to the surface and the fencing (safety issues). They've alloted some money to take care of the basics. We don't know if it will be ready for summer camp in July, but they've told us it should be ready to skate on for the fall. We're hoping to be able to start the recreational league back up this fall (at least for a short season).

We're planning to bring the middle and high school teams under CHILL, as well as possible future travel/tournament teams at other age groups. This will allow for competitive teams to practice and play at the rink as well as recreational teams.

The rink will be open to the public (like all county park facilities), but any leagues/teams operating under CHILL will have priority.

Rollins Caglioni is now the Fundraising/Marketing Director and will be working on getting sponsors. Eric Gudbrandsen is the Coordinator for Adult Leagues and Eric Gutmann is the Coordinator for Youth Leagues.
