PATRIOTS - FINAL SCORE: 6 -7 News Article - So close... - Oct 12, 2009 Well, the first game is under our belt, we worked hard and came oh so close. Robert, our speedy halfback scored first for the Hawkeyes. With a beautiful sweeping run up the right side he dodged and stiff armed his way to the endzone. Our extra point try was unsuccessful as we almost turned over the ball. Our defense played hard throughout the game and held the Patriots to only 7 points. Our offense just did not find its footing to fully take advantage of the defense's stinginess. It was a great effort by all. Once again our Parents were a great support, rooting our boys on. So it is back to practice and working out the rusty bits in our offense. WE ARE HAWKEYES!!!!
