News Article - Tide Defends State Title in the 4x8! - Jun 5, 2010

TWO-TIME STATE CHAMPIONS!!!

Merrimack, NH: Antoine Gisore used a 1:55.0 final leg to close a 4 second gap on the relay teams of Keene and Milford to win the 2010 MOC State Championship in the 4x800m Relay! After solid legs from Steven Ndisabiye (1:58.9), Ian Greene and Camden Black-Ingersoll the race came down to a thrilling and physical homestretch battle that saw the Tide harriers successfully defend their state title in epic fashion. Their time of 8:01.64 is over 5 seconds faster than their winning time in 2009, and is the 2nd fastest time in School history. It certainly bodes well for next week's New England Championships, where the 7:59.9 school record from last year is in their sights.

Gisore came back to score a runner-up finish in the most anticipated race of the day, scoring a time of 9:21 in the 3200m run. As a result, he will compete in both the 4x8 relay and the 3200m at next week's New England Championships in New Britain, CT.

The 2010 Indoor Track Performance of the Year award goes to non-other than Senior Antoine Gisore (a two-time Candy Cup winner, himself).
