DHYF expands to include Decatur High

The Druid Hills Youth Football program (DHYF) is pleased to announce a new relationship with Decatur High School football. DHYF has grown steadily in its first four years, with much of the growth coming from Decatur. DHYF will maintain its existing relationship with Druid Hills High School football, which helped start the program four years ago. Druid Hills High head coach Kip Hall and his staff have be an integral part of the success of DHYF.

Last year many of the youth and head coaches at DHYF were from the City of Decatur. New Decatur High head football coach Brad Waggoner was eager to start a youth football program, and joining forces with an established program was a good fit. The relationship with Decatur High will provide more opportunities for Decatur youth interested in football and will provide a closer community connection to the Decatur High football program.

Some DHYF teams will play as Bulldogs as some as Red Devils. Practices will be held at Decatur High and Druid Hills High. All teams will play home games at both Decatur High stadium and at Druid Hills. The use of both fields will allow DHYF to continue to grow.

DHYF plays in the North Metro Football League and plays against teams from across the north metro area. Several other North Metro youth programs have affiliations with more than one high school, and the model has proven beneficial both for the high school programs as well as the youth programs.
