Freedom had a very close game against Moravian. Their efforts were strong but not strong enough to get the win. Moravian came out strong on offense, with nineteen shots on goal in the first half. Ripley who had her best game of the season, only allowing six out of the nineteen shots on goal. She had eleven saves in the second half as well. Awesome job in goal Rip! After the first time out Freedom went out looking to win. Laura was doing an awesome job controlling the mid field and getting the ball down on offense. She had two very strong goals this game. Kirsten Bell had one of her best games with all of her ground ball pick ups! Keep up the good work girls!

This game we looked like a whole different team. Our offense was meshing and making great catches and passes. Natalie and Erin really stepped up on defense keeping the ball out of the eight and keeping the shots on goal low. Erin also really stood out when on offense with four goals in the game, making sure to place her shots and moving the goalie. Overall the team was picking up groundballs and were winning the draw! This was a game that the girls should be proud of, especially for getting the win. Keep it up in the upcoming games and we will be a stronger overall team, giving the other teams a run for their money! We play again on April 2nd against Easton.

Goalie Saves: Kerry (Played 1st half): 2 Missie (played 2nd half): 3 Game summary provided by Asst Coach Michelle McGreevy Apr 5, 2013 - Freedom put up a very good fight 3-27-13 Freedom started out a little shaky against Nazareth and gave up seven goals in the first thirteen minutes of the game. They then picked up their game and began to fight back. This team really came out of the first time out and began to fight. Defense started to force out the offense out and slowed them down on scoring. Our offense began to move the ball around looking to take the shot. Laura Fodale had an amazing game keeping up her hustle and transitioning the ball through the midfield. As a team this was a great game and we really made Nazareth work for their win. We kept the game very close and didn’t allow them to blow us out of the water which was a huge accomplishment. Down in goal Ripley had a stronger half, coming up with some awesome saves and only allowing four goals in the second half! Allowing no goals in the last five minutes! Overall this was a great game played by Freedom and everyone on the team should be proud of the performance. At the end of the game the Nazareth coach even said that they had an amazing game compared to their last year’s game. Freedom played a harder game than Nazareth, everyone should be looking forward to see how these girls do this season!

The girls played a very strong game but in the end it was still not enough to get the win. Our defense was very strong, with a great performance by Velisa Li. On offense we looked like we were meshing as a team and everyone was making smart passes and catches. Overall our team looked like we are becoming a better team and our skills are beginning to really improve.
