Getting to know the 'Jacks, Josh Russell

From here on out, Getting to know your 'Jacks will be done on the "star of the week" chosen on the players performance from the week before. The first week is Josh Russell. Josh Russell, #36 in your programs, is the starting SS for the Blackjacks along with the defensive coordinator. Josh, for a young guy, has many years of experience under his belt. He has played 2 years for the Kimberly Storm, 3 years with the Bay Area Vipers, and 3 years now with the Green Bay Blackjacks along with invites for tryouts with the Green Bay Blizzard and the Omaha Nighthawks. Josh has served as a team captain on all of the teams he has played for and has many awards in his career such as most improved player (Storm), Dedication award (Rhinelander High School), Defensive MVP (Rhinelander High School), and also was 1st team all conference at Rhinelander High School too. Josh's highlight game came with the Bay Area Vipers vs Joliet Buccaneers when he had 4 INT's 100+ yards in returns and a touchdown. I sat down with Josh at Gallaghers Pizza to enjoy some food and asked him some questions and here were his answers.

What is your favorite team? Professional-Green Bay Packers, college-Texas Longhorns

What is your favorite sport other than football? Volleyball

What is the song that you have on your Ipod right now? Five Finger Death Punch-Under and Over it

Gatorade or Powerade? Powerade, they have better flavors

Favorite meal? Start with a salad, bread and cinnamon butter, twiced baked potato with bacon and cheese, corn, steak, rack of ribs, steak fries, and a slice of cherry pie.

Johnsonville or Klements? Johnsonville

Favorite football player? #36 LeRoy Butler

Who is your hero? My Grandpa

What do you fear most? Failure

I thank Josh for his time and Gallaghers for their delicious food. Our next player for getting to know  the 'Jacks will be Kyler Hartl after his great performance VS the Titletown Muskies. Also do not forget the home opener VS UP Arctic Blast this Saturday, 5/19/2012, at 4pm at Lombardi Middle School.
