Tulare- The Hanford Huskies get beat in Tulare, by the 3-time defending champions Tarheels. The Huskies gave up a couple of big plays in the first half to let the Tarheels get an 30-8 lead going into halftime. The Tarheels converted on 2 fourth downs on there opening drive to go up 8-0.The on the first Huskies offensive series, the visting Huskies drove down to the Tarheel 2 yard line, then fumbled for a Tulare recovery. On the next play, the Huskies Malik Thomas gave up an 80 yard touchdown pass, when he lost track of the ball in the air.The Huskies roared back using their power running game lead by Mario Cruz, made their way to the Tarheel 2 yard line. Then capped it off by a 2 yard touchdown run by Francisco Ramirez. The Huskies calmed down the Tarheels powerfull offensive attack, just holding them to just 1 touchdown and forceing 3 turnovers in the second half. But it wasnt enough though, the Huskies moved the ball well on offense in the second half. The Huskies were led by RB/QB Mario Cruz who had 140 yards on 20 carries and a 5 yard touchdown run.The Huskies finished the season with a 9-4 record and a 2nd round playoff apperance. Both are the best in Hanford Senior Huskies history. For some Huskies the season isnt over, because 12 players will compete in the Hanford youth football All-Star game joining 12 others from the Hanford Sr Bullpups to battle the Visalia All-Stars.
