Knowledge of what it will take to create the right habits, improve fundamentally and excel in attitude and spirit News Article - Week-end - Jan 22, 2010 Well Hanford kicked off the Sunday series with a game against a team they have never seen, Orosi with the first half ending with the score Hanford 14 Orosi 12, Hanford only had 7 players with Branson out of town and Kevin not checking schedule, the second half ended with Hanford winning 39-30, taking control of the game early were Devin and Dustin with 13 points each Dustin also snagged 6 boards, Lil O poured in 6 and Kyle 3 rounding out the scoring were Sam, Jared, and Erik with 2 each, Erik controlled the paint with 12 rebounds. The second game was against the Poterville Blaze, Hanford had to play the game without Erik because of a sparined ankle, taking control early was Oscar with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Dustin scoring 13 and 5 boards, the first half ended with Hanford up 21-9. The second half continued well for Hanford with the score at the buzzer being 48-25 with Hanford being on the tall side of the score, also having a good games were Devin with 8 points, Kyle 5, Sam 3, Kevin 2, and Jared 2 points and 3 boards. Next game will be on 1-31 at 3:00 against Lemoore and then at 4:00 against Bakersfield
News Article - Opening Weekend 10 - Jan 3, 2010 Lindsay 01-03-10 Well today we finally kicked off the Mcdermont League with a close victory against the Porterville Blue Devil. Hanford started strong with good first half performances from Oscar Galloway, Dustin Vasquez, Sam Simas, and Erik Rodrigues with very good jobs from Branson Alves and Devin Lourenco. From the opening tip till half. Hanford played like they were ready to play. Vasquez poured in 11 points all in the first half and Rodrigues scoring 8 in the first and 4 more in the 2nd with 10 strong boards, Sam scored 6, Oscar 5 and 9 rebounds, Branson played solid defense with 4 big boards and two assists, Kevin Alvin hit a 3 and stole the ball twice also making big plays were Devin with 3 assists and a steal and Sam's 3 boards and steal and an assist, Jared Hunt scored a bucket and 3 boards, Kyle Hurt scored a free throw to round out the scoring for Hanford. The score at the half was 31-19 Hanford and it looked like Hanford could cruise to an easy victory..............NOT after a few missed shots and a few makes from the Devils Hanford was up by only 2 with 1 minute 30 seconds left in the match a couple of strong defensive stands and nice lay-up from Simas Hanford was able to hold on and close out the season opener in the morning match. The second game was against Lindsay and they always bring it. Hanford started slow but held on half-way through the second half, keeping the game within 6 points. But a couple of misses and a couple of makes, Hanford was looking at the wrong end of a 23 to 40 game.
