Purpose of the Runners' Council
At the Harmeny Athletic Club AGM held back in September 2011 (refer to the minutes of the 2011 AGM) it was agreed that a Runners’ Council sub group would be formed with its own bank account and committee specifically dedicated to Harmeny Pentland Runners, i.e. the recreational adult runners. The Runners’ Council committee has now been formed and our first meeting was held on 21st December 2011. The Runners’ Council committee consists of the following people:
Going forward, formal minuted meetings will be held once a quarter and at least 3 of the committee members must be present. Beyond that any paid up adult member of Harmeny Athletic Club is welcome to attend and vote. The details of the next meeting – likely to be in early March - will be posted on the News section of the website.
We want to ensure that Harmeny Pentland Runners continues as a fun and dedicated running club and to do that we have to meet the needs of the majority of our memebers. If you have any ideas or requests for runs, training or events then please contact any of the committee members (either in person or by email) to discuss these. Bear in mind that we’re self supporting and we rely on various members giving up their free time to organise the plethora of things we already do - so if you have a new idea you are likely to get roped into making it happen!
