Heavy Hitters Hammer Elite, 14-0; Bennett Pitches No-NoOct. 1, 2011 Heavy Hitters Hammer Elite, 14-0; Bennett Pitches No-No Jaycob Bennett pitched a no-hitter and the Heavy Hitters bats provided the runs enroute to a dominating 14-0 win over Inside Pitch Green (Elite) Saturday morning in their opening game of the 2011 USSSA Fall State Championships at Victory Lane Sports Complex. The Heavy Hitters needed just four innings (10 run rule) to hammer the Elite. HH garnered 12 hits led by Julio Avalos and Brady Stubbs who each had two hits. Ryan Bramble and DJ Wyman each had three RBI's. The Heavy Hitters jumped out to a top of the first 6-0 lead and never looked back. Singles by Andrew Lataille, Stubbs, Wyman, Trent Wohrle, and Avalos along with four Elite errors led to the six runs. A single by Ryan Hughes and a pair of walks led to four more runs in the second inning giving the Heavy Hitters a 10-0 advantage. The Heavy Hitters went up 11-0 in the third inning after Rodrigo Ornelas singled home David Gutierrez who walked. Singles by Hughes, Bennett, RJ Larson, Gutierrez, and Avalos plated the final three Heavy Hitters runs in the top of the fourth. Bennett pitched the complete game no-hitter and allowed just two Elite base runners - both reached on HH errors. (L) Jaycob Bennett hurled a no-hitter against the Elite; (R) Where's Coach Julian?
