News Article - Houlihans Challenge Cup 4th Round - Mar 17, 2010

21st March 2010

Our opponents in the 4th Round of the Challenge Cup are Rock Ferry Social. This looks like being a close game and one worth watching. Rock Ferry having edged out Heygarth 2 -1 in both league games, Heygarth will be looking to advance to the next round. After hammering Hoylake last week, Heygarth are in decent form. Rock Ferry might be a bit low on confidence having lost to Dock FC and Woodchurch in recent weeks.

News Article - Round Up - Dec 27, 2009

What a contrast in our last two games. Having had a pasting against the Oyster Catcher in the Wirral Premier Cup and then putting in an excellent performance in the Cheshire Cup against Pockets FC, the conquerers of Rock Ferry in the previous round.

15 Nov v Oyster Catcher lost 5 - 1

This was to be the worst performance by a Heygarth side that I can remember. Straight from the off we didn't look interested and Oyster made us suffer. I won't go into much detail, but apart from Clint and Phil, the rest should and I'm sure did have a word with themselves about there performances.

22 Nov v Pockets won 3 - 0

What a difference a week makes. Heygarth were quick to start and scored inside 2 minutes with some good work by Abbe and Forbsey to set up Phil Campbell. Then on 24 minutes, steve Forbes scored with a sweet strike from the edge of the area which curled into the top right hand corner, leaving the impressive Pockets golakeeper no chance. Again on 80 minutes, Chris Robertson sent an left footed curler into the goalkeepers left hand corner to finish off the game.
