Connexions Inferno

Match report finally!  Please put final score in as I can’t remember - ta

So the score was Inferno 27 - Pink Ladies 24

Well, what can I say, from first appearances we thought we would be in trouble, playing a bunch of hormonal, agile, fast, young teenagers, but we put age and experience into practice – quickly  taking the upper hand against them in the first quarter. We took an early lead keeping the pace up with the opposition, but by using more accurate passing and occasionally remembering to use our Centre pass piece, we were able to pull ahead after the first quarter and were very grateful not to be playing Jolly Green Giants for a change in defence. 

In the 2^nd and 3^rd quarter Rach made a few tactical changes – bringing on fresh legs and resting large and very tired legs i.e. mine!  Pink ladies managed to draw and the goals were more or less one a piece until we finally got bored of messing about with the kids and managed to pull away and bag the game finishing with a  XX XX win for Connexions.
On a whole the team ALL played incredibably well both in defence and attack with noted improvement in goal conversions when Rach came on.  It’s quite hard not to pick myself as man of the match (only joking) but as mentioned Rach’s shooting was spot on with the assistance of Bambi (Lorna) picking up any rebounds – so my Woman of Match goes to Rach, with Bambi a very close second!
Finally, I would like to mention that the game was in memory of Sonic the late cat – RIP - 1992 – 2009 (human years)!

Some teams just cant get there act together...dissapointing start, as everyone was looking forward to the first game of the season
