A Team wins 2nd in a RowOct. 26, 2009 The A Team won their second game in a row by beating Newburyport 18-12 in a thrilling contest. On Newburyport's second drive of the day they were stopped on downs by the Ipswich Defense on Ipswich's 8 yard line. On Ipswich's next play from scrimmage, Nate Glaster took it to the house for a 92 yard TD. Ipswich lead at the half 6-0. Early in the 3rd quarter Glaster struck again with a 54 yard TD Sprint. By the middle of the 4th quarter Newburyport had evened the score to 12-12. With 4 minutes left Ipswich drove the ball down to the Clipper 10 yard line with a combination of Glaster, Andrew Connor and Curtis Lemonsky. With the clock showing 1:25, Ipswich fumbled the ball over to Newburyport. 3 plays into the Newburyport series, Glaster picked off a pass and brough it to the Newburyport 10 yard line. Ipswich pushed the ball to the 1/2 yardline with 6 seconds left. The Ipswich 11 ran the Wedge - and Curtis Lemonsky powered the ball over the goal-line for the winning TD to end the game. Erik Fyrer (interception), Nate Harrington, the Offensive Line including Matt Carey, Sean Hoey, John Kallas all had good games. Derrick Chamberlain was a standout on Defense. The Tigers look to extend their streak next Sunday in Marblehead.
