The Tigers D squad faced their toughest opponent this season head on. The defensive played a fierce game. Alex Fecteau and Sam Fritz who were double teamed most of the day continued the Halloween nightmares for the Marblehead ball carriers. Pat Gillis had his best game of the season with two sacks, a fumble recovery and a caused fumble. Connor Silva and Caleb Comeau both had big tackles for losses. The saying goes that cornerbacks are men on an island. That was true for Zach Long and Blake Emerson who both made outstanding open field plays. Long stuffed a sweep for a ten yard loss and Emerson stepped up and tackled a Marblehead back twice his size to halt what looked like a sure touchdown. AJ Varga, Jake Wile, and Pete Spinale rounded out a superb effort. On offense Garret Labrecque broke several long runs but Marblehead's defense was tough and Ipswich could not get into the endzone. Jake Wile, pressed into duty at center after only one practice was a stalwart. The Tigers are looking forward to Hamilton- Wenham next Sunday. The coaches could not have been prouder of their team today!!
