About LADY DULAX Lady Dulax (Duluth Lacrosse) is a self-directed, motivated club team that represents UMD in the finest manner possible. We conduct ourselves with poise and class and strive for excellence in all we do. We commit to the team by choice, not by obligation. We are a group of women who are not only friends and teammates, but we share a close special bond. We pick eachother up when we are down, both on and off the field. It is our mission to be competitive; out ultimate goals are to win and enjoy doing so. For every member of the team, it is imperative to leave the organization better than you found it. UMD entered the 2008 season as a WDIA sponsored Independent Team. In previous years, the team was a member of the Upper Midwest Women's Lacrosse League (UMWLL), but after dissolving the UMWLL without an open forum between all teams, and then forming a new league (NCWLL) without inviting all area teams to participate, UMD felt that the best way to go was Independent. This choice helped UMD to grow and become a more competitive National Contender by traveling around the country to play quality teams. The team was one win away from earning a wild card bid to the National Tournament. UMD will be entering the upcoming 2009 season as a Provisional Member of the NCWLL. Provisional members have lower league dues, are not assigned to a conference, are exempt from playing a minimum number of games, are ineligible to make NCWLL playoffs or earn an Automatic Qualifier to the WDIA National Tournament from the NCWLL, and do not have voting rights. In 2005 and 2006, UMD won the UMWLL Championship and earned automatic qualifiers for the national tournament. In 2008, UMD outscored opponents 171-108. In their 4 games against NCWLL teams, they outscored opponents 79-10.
