Excellent Win To StormJun. 1, 2012 Lithgow Storm 15s hosted Orange CYMS in round four of the competition and despite being without their three Group 10 representatives the home side was able to win 22 - 18 in a hard fought match in which several players put in excellent efforts. Sam Cameron scored first for the Storm when he used a good step and pace to split the CYMS defence for a good try that he also converted for a 6 - 0 lead. Sam Cameron was instrumental in the next try when he fooled the defence with a dummy and stole 20 metres before a nice offload to Nathan McAndrew in support. Emmanuel Kuban was too strong for the CYMS defence when he charged over and planted the ball under the posts in an excellent try which Sam Cameron converted to see Lithgow lead 12 - 0. The Storm repelled several attempts by the Orange side to cross the line. Joel Cama, Cody Godden, Jye Gillespie and Luke Davern made important tackles which kept the Orange side scoreless in the the first half. Storm opened the scoring again in the second half after good field position was gained by Trent Lane before quick hands in the backs saw Emmanuel Kuban throw a well timed pass to Nathan McAndrew who scored a good try in the corner. Sam Cameron converted from the sideline to see Lithgow leading by 18 - 0. CYMS rallied at this point and scored two tries to trail by 10 - 18 and looked to be finishing stronger before Lithgow dug deep and Emmanuel Kuban capped an excellent game when he took on the defenders near the line and proved too strong when he posted his second try. CYMS also scored one more but it was to no avail as Lithgow triumphed by 22 - 18 against a side which was undefeated with a win over last year's premiers before this match. Referee's points were awarded to Emmanuel Kuban (3), Cody Godden (2) and Trent Lane (1) whilst Joel Cama was the deserved recepient of the Player's Player award after a great start to the season and a standout game in both attack and defence.
