Beth David 18 - Har Zion 4

The Beth David Bruins stayed unbeaten by putting together their most productive offensive game while getting it done defensivly with a home field win over Har Zion 18-4.  The Bruins got it done without their ace Rob Pearlstein who was summoned to South Africa to consult the ailing Nelson Mandela on how to defy age playing Shul League softball.  If he's not too jetlagged, Pearlstein will return to the mound next Sunday.  But for the past two Sunday's it was back-up Barry Springel's team as he carried the Blue and Gold two successive weeks posting two straight complete games. The Bruins were paced by their leadoff hitting shortstop Eric Zager, outfielder Peter Ochroch and infielder Judd Hollander with four hits apiece.  Robert Shoemaker, Luc Margolis, Jake Ochroch added three hits apiece.  "You never know what Har Zion team will show up," states coach Lucoff. "We'll that can also be said for the Bruins, as we avenged a tough 3-2 regular season ending loss from the Lions last year.  When we make the plays in the field that should be made as we did Sunday, the rest usually falls into place."
