JAN 15 Capitals vs. Predators

Want to know if the girls can hang with the boys when it comes to playing hockey?  Check this out: Christine scored one of the three Capitals' goals today, Autumn scored two of the Predators' five goals, and Chelsey picked up an assist for the Preds in their win.  Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! 

There wasn't a dull moment in this contest.  From the first drop of the ball all ten players on the rink played with determination and skill, cheered on by their teammates on the bench, who were anxious for their opportunity to contribute. After every shift, players came off the rink gasping for breath, having exhausted all their energy trying to get an advantage for their teams.  The coaches kept a positive attitude throughout the game, reminding the players what they were capable of and how to work as a team.  In the end, the Predators had the advantage, and picked up the 5-3 win.

Richie and Zach Z. were strong in goal for the Caps and Preds, respectively.  Christine and Wyatt, assisted by Andrew, scored for the Capitals in the first.  Autumn scored in the first for the Preds, assisted by Andres.  Ashton and Andres hooked up for two more Preds goals in the second, followed by goals from Kendall (assisted by Chelsey) and Autumn with her second (assisted by Ashton).  Bobby netted the third goal for the Caps, and that was all they would get, despite pulling the goalie and looking for every shot they could get late in the game.

Austin provided strong defense for the Preds in their victory, and had several shots on goal.  For the Caps, Stephanie and Anna showed that skill and determination are crucial to keeping the game close.
