Mill Creek Takes Sole Possession of First PlaceDec. 16, 2008 COVINGTON, WA -- For the first time in school history, the Mill Creek Bulldogs have taken sole possession of first place in the Kent/Tahoma Basketball League. Traveling to Cedar Heights, the undefeated Timberwolves and undefeated Bulldogs squared off for the second time in just over a week—playing last Monday in a Limited Participation game that did not count as far as league standings are concerned. The Bulldogs set the tone early, using their pressure full court defense to disrupt the high powered Timberwolves offense. At the end of the first quarter, Mill Creek led 17-8. Although Cedar Heights led early in the first quarter 1-0, once the Bulldogs took the lead, they never relinquished it. The Bulldogs extended their lead to 18 in the fourth quarter, and finished with a 17 point victory, 55-38. Mill Creek (6-0) travels the Tahoma Gold on Thursday, assuming weather does not postpone the game.
