UNO Head Coach Andy Benoit answered questions from PrivateerFootball.com following the Privateers' 10-0 victory over the South Alabama Jaguars at Tad Gormley Stadium on Sunday.

Do you have an injury report?  We noticed Brady getting his ankle taped during the game, but he did return.  Anyone else on the injury report?

Coach Benoit: "We have no major issues with regard to injuries – Madison is the only player out right now. Brady was getting re-taped during last week’s game and the trainers gave him the green light to return. He will start on Saturday. We will be bringing 48 men on this road trip – which is our normal travel size. We had a few guys with seasonal sicknesses this week – nothing major this week."

Any particular thoughts on the South Alabama game?  You have to be proud of the defensive effort.  Any concerns?

Coach Benoit: "I think South Alabama was a shining game for our defense. The guys worked very hard and came through in the clutch – they take pride in the fact that they have not given up a touchdown thus far this season. I think we played a bit more cohesively, but we still have worked to do. We had too many dropped passes – we’re working on that. We will progress on both sides of the ball and on special teams. Overall, it was a shutout win and we move on to the next opponent."

You now take this team on the road for two games and against what seems like a big step up on competition.  What do you expect against Concordia, who is a varsity NAIA program?  Do you prepare differently to play a sanctioned NAIA or NCAA team than you do to play a club team?

Coach Benoit: "Concordia brings a different set of challenges – they are a big, strong, and fast squad. They are well coached, have playmakers, and will challenge us on every play. We don’t prepare for them any different than our other opponents – we watch film, game plan on offense and defense, and we practice accordingly. No matter what level, organization is key. We have that approach every week."

Have you had any time for recruiting of high school athletes?  Have you had any prospects come to either of the two home games so far this season?

Coach Benoit: "Actually yes. Not only that, but we are getting a lot of transfer interest. We have verbal commitments from two current or recent college players – one division I (Nicholls) and one from division II (Arkansas Monticello). We have a few other transfers in the till right now. As far as high school prospects, we have about 25 that have expressed strong interest. We had five recruits for game 1 and two attend game two. I expect that we will have more recruits coming to the final two home games."
