New Orleans (4-2; 1-1 Midwestern Club Football Conference) dominated on both sides of the football, racking up 462 yards of total offense to the Mavericks' 26 yards, beating UTA for the second time this year. The teams played to a scoreless first quarter, but UNO ran wild in the second stanza and led 30-0 at halftime. The scoring got started on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Brady to wide receiver Dustin Feagley, capping a nine-play, 62-yard drive. UNO missed the extra point and settled for a 6-0 lead at the 13:29 mark of the second quarter. Texas-Arlington had -24 yards of offense and no first downs after their first four possessions, and the Gridiron Buccaneers struck again, with Brady tossing to wide receiver Josh Giambelluca for a 23-yard pass into the end zone. On the day, Giambelluca made seven catches for 102 yards, plus collected two interceptions while playing cornerback. Kicker Adam Bayer's point after made the score 13-0 with 10:16 to go in the half. UTA would go three-and-out again, and the Privateers would have great field position, marching 24 yards on four plays for another score as fullback Robert Jones carried it in from a yard out. UNO led 20-0 with 7:51 showing on the second quarter clock. Jones ended up with seven carries for 79 yards. New Orleans padded the advantage on Brady's 48-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Don Davidson, making it 27-0 with under five minutes to play in the half. It was Davidson' only reception of the game. After a Giambelluca interception return gave UNO the ball at the Maverick eight-yard line, a 28-yard field goal by Bayer as time expired accounted for a 30-0 halftime score. UT-Arlington (1-3) looked as if they were going to take some momentum back, when multi-positional player Matthew Funk took the opening kick of the second half and returned it 57 yards, setting up quarterback Chris Mercado's 15-yard touchdown pass to Funk. UNO's lead was cut to 30-7 just seconds into the third quarter. Mercado had just seven completions in 28 attempts, accounting for just 52 yards through the air. Maverick linebacker Jacob Eye would block a Paul Sacco punt deep in Privateer territory, but the UNO defense held, keeping the lead at 23 points through three quarters. New Orleans would put the game away in the fourth quarter, when, immediately following linebacker Eric Doran's fumble recovery, tailback Josh Preston ran 35-yards down the down the left sideline for a touchdown. Preston would add a 12-yard run at the 2:52 mark to end the scoring, as he took 17 carries for a total of 90 yards in the win.
