Apr 22, 2013 - Fury Showdown
Aftershock 10th grade continued their aggressive play against very competitive teams at the Fury showdown. The first game was a narrow loss to a much bigger team called the Mn 36ers, the second game on Saturday was a great game to watch. After being down by 20 points to the North Iowa Fire, the young aftershock team came back and tied the game in the last 4 seconds with a quick transition down the court. Makayla Paggen dribbled across court, looked at the clock and passed to Katie Klein who sank the three point shot for the tie 46-46. Then in overtime both teams scrambled for loose balls, and a lot of back and forth. The 36ers scored a shot from the lane making it 48-46 and the Aftershock finished with a 3 point shot to win 49-46. Great hustle and a “never give up” attitude helped the Aftershock pull out the win.
