Sticking to its offensive philosophy no matter the quarterback. Freshman Tyler Handson, is the shotgun, had highs and lows last week, his first as a starter. He threw three picks, but rushed for two touchdowns and engineered two solid drives. Against a dinged-up Oso defense, Handson might want to get more comfortable with the run game and backs John Gabriel Guzman and Keith Garcia. That could present some challenges for the Pirates defense, which had differculties the past two weeks- first with Hondo's running game and then Rio Hondo's precision passing attack last week. But led by hard-hitting DeRick Castro, Erin Charles and Tracker Conn, Sinton can force its share of turnovers. |
| WEST OSO: |
Bears just lost DT Jose Castillo to a dislocated elbow, likely for the rest of the regular season, and have ceded 798 rushing yards the past two weeks. But Oso RB Justin Perez put up his second 200-yard game of the season and former projected starting RB Reggie Moreno should be back from a preseason injury likely in the slot. Receiver Donovan Beasley still will be out this week, but the Bears could have coach's son Jordan Luster back in the lineup at the wing, pending a UIL ruling. |
