Iron Pigs Sign Duvall to 14 Man Roster

IRON PIGS SIGN DUVALL TO 14 MAN ROSTER

The IRON PIGS SLOPITCH CLUB have signed BRENDAN DUVALL to the main 14 man roster following his debut as a spare player on June 17th. MIKE McCARTHY was removed from the roster and optioned to AAA.

DUVALL, 28, was officially signed to a minor league deal on June 14th and had his contract purchased on June 17th and made his debut that night. He reached base 5 time (3 hits, 2 errors) and played catcher for all innings but one, where he played at second base, committing one error. GM BEN CHURCH said he didnt know where Duvall would play the rest of the season, but is happy to have the team supplied with Spits and Gatorade for the rest of the year.

McCARTHY, 35, hit .545 (6 for 11) with a double, walk, strikeout and 3 runs batted in, before getting injured. He will be resigned to a minor league deal and added to the spare roster while recovering from his injury.

The Iron Pigs next see action on June 24th at 830pm vs the Crackers are Bridlewood Park.
