Stars Show Beavers,

That’s how it’s done

Firstly sorry I haven’t written in so long, I have been recovering from the Grand Final win last year, in fact I ended up in hospital where they had to drain amber fluid off my liver.

Reigning Premiers Southern Stars had an impressive win over the Bonnet Bay Beavers on Saturday. At a sun drenched Captain Cook Fields every person and their dog was on hand to see the Stars in their first hit out. A capacity crowd of 20 and one dog named Lucy saw the Stars come out to  play, after a win on forfeit in round 1. With the same team, but a new coaching combination at the helm, the girls from the South jumped to an imposing 5 – 2 lead after the first dig. With their usual captain Meegan at home with the “Pool Man” (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), it was left to the rest of the team to step up.

In the 2nd innings Corin and Alisha hit two scoring home runs back to back to take the Stars lead to 10 – 7.

A change in pitching saw Laura at the mound and she kept the Beavers to 9 with some great catches from Chris and fielding plays from Aymee and backing up from Alison the Beavers struggled to trouble the score cards. Again big hitting from Leanne, Michelle and Elena the Stars grew their lead to 17. The last innings was played for bragging rights as the Stars could not be beaten. Bonnett Bay brought on their big hitters, and the lady in the white singlet top scared little old Brian Phillips,

as she was a lot more women then the journalist could handle. But to no avail the Mighty Stars kept the Beavers clean and managed to rack up 5 more runs to win 22 – 9.

Reporting from Captain Cook Fields, Everything you need to know Brian told you so.

P.S I also need to mention two special milestones last week, Aymee had a birthday on   Saturday and Alisha turned 45 last Wednesday, well I think she was 45 the way she was walking on Sunday.
