Harthill Village AFC
Feb. 25, 2012
As part of the expansion in the West Lothian Sunday League for next season I am delighted to announce that steps are now underway to set up a second team in the Village for next season .
This should not be confused with the team that was to be set up as Harthill Royal and playing out of the Juniors next season .
I have had discussions with Harthill Juniors and can confirm that our existing team who will play in the top Division next season will be playing out of Harthill Juniors and sharing the training facilities currently used by the Juniors . This will be a great boost to the club and in turn provide a revenue source for the Juniors .More importantly though it will give us a recognised base to play from and somewhere to offer hospitality after games .
The second team will also be run out of our club and will be based along the lines of the existing Club 3550 in Livi and made up of our former players who have now stopped playing but are looking for a kick about and a laugh after games on a Sunday .This team will participate in the Lowest League in the West Lothian set up .
I am really excited about the possibility of getting these guys back into the club and re-establishing the firm local connection .
Amongst the names involved ,although some have still to confirm are - Hardie Googoo Uggy Pow Wattie Shoods Spud Bobby Hilditch Cally Beggy Doll Eck Stinkie . This is only the tip of the iceberg and I personally think that this will be the wee boost that we need as a club to get things off and running again .
These guys are not interseted in training ,nor taking it seriously in any way - until they start playing that is haha .
As I say both teams will use the Juniors as a base and play at different kick off times so plenty of support for the home games is guaranteed.
By using the excellent facilities at Bathgate we have manged to get loads of games played but I have missed the extra buzz of playing at Harthill .
I really cant wait to get things moving on this .
Apart from that of course we have the important matter of getting silverware from the 3 competitions we are still involved in this season .
Mon the Village ,or should that be the Royal or even Harthill Village Royal
