Surin runs 9.84Apr. 5, 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpPOHtAuWgQ&feature=related Surin super in 9.84 at '99 World Championships WAILUKU -- Bruny Surin's 9.84 at the 1999 World Championships against USA's Maurice Green is documented on this youtube.com video. Green was clocked in 9.80, then the second fastest time in the 100 all-time. The USA sprinter, who held the world record of 10.79, was pushed by Surin. The Canadian sprinter had a superior start and owned a slight lead over Green at the midway point of the race. Included in the outstanding field were USA sprinters Tim Harden and Tim Montgomery. Surin will be on Maui Thursday, April 17, for a free track clinic beginning at 5 p.m. at the Sataki Yamamoto Track & Field Facility. Runner's Paradise is the sponsor of the event. Surin will stay on Maui for the Runner's Paradise 100-meter challenge scheduled for Saturday, April 19. See earlier press release for more information on Surin and the 100-meter challenge.
