Apr 17, 2013 - A Message From The Officers - THANK YOU FANS! Lubbock, Texas --- The D1 team falls in the playoff round against the Cal Poly Mustangs at the National Tournament, officially ending the 2013 campaign for Red Raider Inline Hockey. The program cannot express how proud they are of the 21 students who wore the red and black of Texas Tech University with great pride and valor. With the club more than doubling in size, the 2013 season will surely be one to remember for the men who made it happen. Most importantly, a special shout out to each parent and fan for their unrivaled support. Sincerely, The Officers
Apr 11, 2013 - Game Preview: TTU vs Cal Poly SLO Fort Myers, Florida --- After being crushed by Arizona State University, the Raiders will try to find some life in their elimination game against Cal Poly SLO. Texas Tech was outmatched and outskated in a 12-0 drubbing versus ASU. Tough to find a bright spot in this match as Tech only mustered 14 shots on goal. ASU came out hungry early en route to 7 first period goals against the Raiders. Tech is now winless in their last 3 and will look to right the ship against a very skilled Cal Poly team. For Tech, freshman Tyler Dean leads their offense with 3 points, William Rinker has chipped in 3 assists and Stuart Freiner is close behind him with 1 goal and 1 assist. For Cal Poly SLO, they went 3-0 in pool play with wins over Florida Gulf Coast, Hofstra and the University of Missouri - St Louis. Their club has evenly spread around the goal scoring as mutiple players are tied with 4 and 5 points. Tech will again have their work cut out for them as one of the lowest seeds heading into the elimination round. In order to stay alive in this national tournament, it will take a total team game against Cal Poly SLO to get the win. Let's hear it one more time for your Texas Tech Inline Hockey Club!
Apr 10, 2013 - Game Preview: TTU vs Arizona State Fort Myers, Florida --- With Texas Tech looking to rebound after a 7-4 loss to OSU earlier in the day, they came back with a resounding thud. After ending the first period of play tied at 1 against ECU, Tech would surrender 2 power play goals and 8 unanswered in a lopsided 9-1 loss. Leading the way for ECU was Zak Turco, who notched 5 goals and 1 assist. ECU proved to be too much for Tech, who now go on to face Arizona State. Michael Crayton scored the only goal for Texas Tech, with assists from Stuart Freiner and William Rinker. Next up for Tech is Arizona State, who have been dictating everything in the D1 Pool E. Arizona State flattened ECU 6-1 and easily skated by Ohio State 7-1. ASU is led by #54 Tyler Koressel, who has 7 goals and 2 assists in 2 games of pool play. Once again, ASU comes from a highly competitive WCRHL D1 group that sent 5 out of 5 teams to the 2013 national tournament. ASU ended their regular season 8-10-3 against the likes of Long Beach State, UNLV, Cal Poly SLO and UC Santa Barbara, each of whom received nationals bids to Fort Myers. Needless to say, Texas Tech now has their hands full against a ASU team that has beaten Tech earlier in the year. ASU beat Texas Tech 12-3 on February 10th in Denton, Texas. Leading the way in that game was #6 Alex Dodt (3 goals, 2 assists), #54 Tyler Koressel (2 goals, 3 assists) and #17 Will Heinze(2 goals, 1 assist). Tyler Dean and William Rinker potted goals for Texas Tech. In order for Tech to find the win column, they will need to find an answer for ASU's highly potent offense. ASU's shooting percentage in this tournament is nearly 35% with lots of pucks finding the back of the net and not many shots taken. Tech will rely heavily on its defensive game and second year starting goaltender, Nic Wahler. Go Tech! Wreck 'Em!
Apr 10, 2013 - Game Preview: TTU vs ECU Fort Myers, Florida --- After losing their first game at the 15th Annual NCRHA Championships, Tech looks to rebound in their second game of the day against East Carolina University. In Game 1, Tech came out firing against OSU, outshooting their opponent through the early going. After some up and down play, Tech trailed 5-0 after 2 periods of play and never really found their game. Two minor penalties in the middle frame would come back to haunt Tech's chances, as they surrendered two power play goals in the 2nd period. During the third period, Tech struck first as Tyler Dean notched his first of the tournament. Tech would add 3 late period goals by Dean, Stuart Freiner and former OSU player, Jerry Staley. Nic Wahler made 22 saves in the loss. Tech enters this evening's game against ECU with Tyler Dean as their leading point getter, he notched 2 goals and 1 assist. ECU also enters Game 2 with a single loss to the start the day. They were outshined by Arizona State University by a final of 6-1. Conor Clark notched the lone goal for ECU and Zachary Teachey stopped 18 shots in the loss. During the regular season, Zak Turco led ECU in scoring with 12 goals and 17 assists in 16 games played. ECU finished with 6 wins, 7 losses and 3 ties in the highly competitive SECRHL. Let's hear it for your Red Raiders as they look to put one in the win column! GO TECH!

Ohio State finished 9-9-2 in D1 MCRHL. They would lose to eventual D1 champion Michigan State in their playoff matchup in March. OSU played in a highly competitive MCRHL division that would see 4 out of 6 teams qualify for a nationals bid. Alex Durinka led the way for OSU, compiling 30 goals and 31 assists, while Dan Dukart was close behind him with 40 goals and 20 assists during the 2012-2013 season. Get your GUNS UP for your Red Raiders and come out and support your boys! Jan 28, 2013 - TTU B Team Shows Progress; Wins One Lubbock, Texas --- The Tech Inline Hockey B team opened the Spring 2013 semester of play with an impressive win and showed encouraging progress throughout the opening tournament. With 12 games behind them, the B team seems to have finally found their path. After losing the first 6 games of the regular season, the B club has now won 3 out of its last 6 games. Additionally, Tech B has narrowed its goal differential in all of the past 3 losses. In the opening 6 game slide, Tech lost by an average of 8 goals per game compared to its recent losses, in which that number has been reduced to 6. These stats are all the more impressive for a club that used 6, and sometimes 5, skaters in this opening weekend of play. Going forward, Tech will look to add to its win total and to its skater total. Against Louisiana Tech University, Tech wasted little time, as they scored 5 first period goals en route to an 11-1 victory. Newcomer, Conner Richardson, tallied 5 goals and 2 assists in just his third game as a Texas Tech Red Raider. His point total would earn him first star of the game honours. Jacob McKnight collected 2 goals and 2 assists, Brandon Sohn would dish out 3 assists, 1 goal and Jason Fustin made 17 saves to solidify the win. In other action, Tech suffered defeat at the hands of Division 1 foe Sam Houston State University. Tech played an even game against a tough opponent but ultimately would have their undoing occur in the 2nd period of play, where they surrendered 5 goals. Jason Fustin stopped 30 shots in the loss. Tate Hunton, Jacob McKnight and Ryan Spaulding all registered one goal. Against UNT, Tech kept the game within distance for 2 periods of play as they battled hard. The third period of play, however, was a completely different game. Tech surrendered 6 goals in a period where they could not keep up with a fully staffed UNT squad. Tech looks to build on this loss, as they will inevitably face UNT in the SCHL B division championship series in March. Let's hear it for your Red Raiders as they march toward a potential SCHL championship and a potential birth in the NCRHA Championships in Fort Myers, Florida. GO TECH! In Tech's first game of the year, they defeated defending SCHL D1 champion UNT. In the first period, UNT would take a 3-0 lead over Tech with 2 goals by Addison Bradley. To open play in the second, Jerry Staley would find the net and give Tech its first goal of the year. With UNT serving a minor penalty for high sticking, Freshman Tyler Dean would notch a power play tally. It was his first as a Red Raider. Tyler Dean also collected a hat trick, William Rinker scored his first of the season and Stu Freiner would pot an insurance marker to seal the victory for Tech. With the victory, Tech defeated UNT for the first time in 7 years. Dating back to the 2005-2006 season, Tech's last victory over UNT was a 7-5 win on November 19th, 2005 in Arlington, Texas at Breakaway Roller Hockey Center. Tech looks to continue this great rivalry and matchup throughout the season. In other scores, Tech rolled over Sam Houston State University 11-2. Tyler Dean registered 4 goals and 1 assist to lead Tech. Robbie Price matched his point total with 2 goals and 3 assists of his own. Nic Wahler garnered 3rd star of the game honors, as he made 22 saves in the win. Notables: Ryan Smith and Hayden Smith scored their first 2 goals of the season. Tech easily handled the University of Texas with an 11-3 win. Robbie Price continued his point streak with another 2 goal, 3 assist effort and 1st star of the game honors. Jerry Staley got things started with a power play goal 4:15 into the game. Serving penalties for too many men and tripping, Tech would surrender 2 power play goals to end the first. Tim Duggan and Robbie Price would trade second period goals. Jerry Staley would bring Tech within one goal in the third period but a late penalty against Tyler Dean for hooking would spell doom for Tech. Shorthanded and the clock winding down, Tech could not mount a comeback and the Raiders took their first loss of the season. Your Red Raiders are back in action on November 17th against Sam Houston State University at 8:00 P.M. in Houston, Texas. GUNS UP!
Nov 5, 2012 - Tech B Squad Comes Up Empty In Denton Denton, Texas --- Shorthanded and playing together for the first time ever, the Tech Inline Hockey B team came up empty handed after 4 games this weekend in Denton, Texas. Down 4-1, Tech battled back to score 3 and tie the game. Ryan Spaulding, Tate Hunton and Ryan Medellin would all score their first goals of the 2012-2013 campaign. A late turnover would come back to haunt Tech as UNT would get the final goal and skate away with a 5-4 win. Tech will now go back to the drawing board as UNT and Tech are set for many head to head matchups this year in the B division. In other action, Tech was out skated by Texas State 12-0. Justin Fustin made 31 saves in the loss. After skating to a close game with SFA, Tech could not contain SFA's Christian Ducotey who notched 6 goals against Tech.
